North Regional TAFE named WA Large Training Provider of the Year

North Regional TAFE has taken out the top honour of being crowned WA Large Training Provider of the Year for 2017.

The announcement was made at the WA Training Awards in Perth on Friday evening, where the State’s top achieving students, lecturers and training providers were recognised and awarded.

It was North Regional TAFE’s ability to successfully and sustainably deliver to a diverse range of communities and organisations that earned them the top, according to the WA Training Awards judging panel.

“North Regional TAFE provided solid indications of a college in tune with its remarkably diverse communities, its broad geographic spread as well as its need to focus on the requirements of some of the world’s biggest and most innovative companies,” stated the judges comments.

“The ability to cater for every stakeholder, and deliver flexibly yet sustainably, was remarkable.”

North Regional TAFE Managing Director Kevin Doig accepted the award on Friday, attributing the achievement to his team of dedicated staff.

“The win is testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff, who have worked incredibly hard over the past 18 months to make North Regional TAFE what it is today,” Kevin said.

“The judges noted the enthusiasm of students and the positive engagement with staff during their visit, and it’s really encouraging to see this being recognised.”

Kevin said North Regional TAFE’s ability to provide a unique and customised experience for learners was key to the College’s success.

“It is not just about teaching the course, but everything that comes with the learning experience, and the support services we have to assist students through their studies.”

The win comes on top of the College receiving the highest student satisfaction ranking in the State last year, and a 100% compliance achievement at the recent Training Accreditation Council (TAC) audit.

“These achievements truly reinforce the incredible efforts of our team and will serve as encouragement for everyone to keep up doing a fantastic job into 2018.”

North Regional TAFE has now been entered into the shortlisting selection process for the 2017 Australian Training Awards, to be held in Canberra on 23 November.
